It was a cool Halloween night, and MJ was dressed as a brave knight, complete with his favorite toy sword. His family was heading to an outdoor Halloween movie night at the big field outside town. The screen was huge, the popcorn smelled amazing, and MJ couldn’t wait to watch his favorite monster movies under the stars.
As they settled into their spot on the blankets, the first movie began to play: Dino of the Dead. MJ loved seeing dinosaurs stomping through a spooky graveyard. But just as the T. rex roared on screen, something strange happened—the ground began to shake.
The Movie Comes to Life
“Whoa!” MJ said, clutching his sword as the shaking got louder. Suddenly, a REAL dinosaur—an enormous zombie T. rex—burst out from behind the screen. Its eyes glowed green, and its roar echoed through the field.
Before MJ could say anything, the next thing on the screen, a howling werewolf, leapt out too! Then a swamp monster! And a ghostly knight with a shimmering sword! The monsters from the movies were coming to life.
The crowd screamed and ran, but MJ wasn’t scared. “This is my chance to be a real hero!” he said, gripping his toy sword.
Meeting the Werewolf
As MJ stepped forward, the werewolf growled and blocked his path. “You don’t belong here, little knight!” it snarled. “These movies are for us monsters now.”
“But you’re scaring everyone!” MJ said bravely. “If you let me help, we can fix this.”
The werewolf tilted its head. “Help? What can a kid do?”
“I’ve got a sword, I’m brave, and I know how movies work,” MJ said. “Take me to the ghost knight. He’s probably in charge.”
The werewolf growled, but then it nodded. “Fine, follow me.”
The Ghost Knight’s Plan
The ghost knight stood on top of the giant popcorn stand, glowing eerily in the moonlight. “Who dares disturb my movie takeover?” the knight boomed.
“It’s me, MJ!” MJ shouted, waving his sword. “Why are you doing this?”
The knight sighed. “We monsters just want to watch movies in peace, but humans always run away. So I decided to bring the movies to life to make it more fun.”
MJ thought for a moment. “You don’t need to scare people to enjoy movies! We can all watch them together if you promise not to cause trouble.”
The knight laughed. “And what if I don’t promise?”
MJ’s Brave Battle
The ghost knight drew his glowing sword, challenging MJ. The crowd gasped as the two began to duel. MJ dodged and swung his toy sword, sparks flying whenever it clashed with the ghostly blade.
“Your bravery is impressive, little knight,” the ghost said, his voice softening. “Perhaps we can make a deal.”
Saving the Night
MJ stopped swinging and pointed his sword at the ghost. “If you let everyone enjoy the movie night without scaring them, I’ll make sure there’s popcorn for all the monsters too.”
The ghost knight considered this. “Popcorn for all monsters? Even the swamp creature?”
“Even the swamp creature!” MJ said with a grin.
The ghost knight nodded. “Very well. Monsters, return to the screen!”
With a wave of his sword, the T. rex, werewolf, and swamp monster all leapt back into the movie, roaring happily as they returned to their stories. The ghost knight vanished, leaving behind a shimmering trail of light.
A Happy Halloween
The crowd cheered as the screen returned to normal. MJ’s dad gave him a big hug. “You were so brave, buddy!”
From then on, every Halloween, monsters were invited to the outdoor movie night—but only if they promised to share the popcorn and keep the scares on screen.
As MJ snuggled into his blanket, munching on popcorn, he smiled up at the stars. “Best Halloween ever.”
The End.
