It was a peaceful evening in the Kingdom of Glitterglow, and Avey was hanging out in the royal treehouse. She had her favorite flip-flops on, a roll of duct tape she’d borrowed from the garage, and a piece of old chewing gum she’d saved for no particular reason. Suddenly, she heard a commotion outside.
Down in the sparkling meadow, her friends Kiki, MJ, and Lala were pointing toward the stables, where the royal unicorns were kept. The stables were empty, and strange glowing hoofprints led away into the forest.
“The unicorns are missing!” Kiki shouted.
“It must be the Zombie Unicorn Thieves!” MJ said, holding his toy dinosaur for courage.
Avey stood up tall. “Not on my watch,” she said, grabbing her flip-flop, duct tape, and gum. “I’ll save those unicorns!”
Into the Forest
Avey followed the glowing hoofprints into the forest. The trees were twisted and dark, with faint moaning sounds echoing through the branches. It wasn’t long before she found the thieves—zombie unicorns with glowing green eyes and patches of moss and vines hanging from their manes.
They were pulling the royal unicorns toward a swampy cave, their glowing hooves stomping the ground.
“You’re not taking them!” Avey shouted, stepping into the clearing.
The lead zombie unicorn, a tall one with a broken horn and glowing purple eyes, snorted. “And what are you going to do about it, little human?”
The Flip-Flop Showdown
Avey gripped her flip-flop tightly. “This,” she said, throwing it with perfect aim. WHAP! It smacked the lead zombie unicorn right on the nose.
The unicorn stumbled back, surprised. “Ow! Who throws a flip-flop?”
“I do,” Avey said proudly, catching the flip-flop as it bounced back. “Now let those unicorns go!”
Duct Tape Dilemma
The other zombie unicorns began to circle Avey. Thinking fast, she pulled out her duct tape and unrolled a long strip.
“Hey, zombie unicorns!” she shouted. “Bet you can’t run through this without getting stuck!”
The zombies charged at her, but as they ran, they got tangled in the sticky tape. One by one, they tripped and fell into a heap, snorting and neighing in frustration.
“Duct tape: one. Zombies: zero,” Avey said with a grin.
Chewing Gum Trickery
The lead zombie unicorn wasn’t giving up. It reared back, preparing to charge. Avey grabbed the old chewing gum from her pocket, chewed it quickly, and stuck it onto the tip of her flip-flop.
As the unicorn charged, Avey swung her sticky flip-flop like a slingshot, flinging the gum right onto the unicorn’s glowing purple eye.
“Yuck!” the unicorn groaned, stumbling around. “I can’t see!”
With their leader blinded, the other zombie unicorns gave up and began to untangle themselves from the duct tape. They looked at Avey nervously.
“Fine,” the lead unicorn grumbled. “We’ll leave the royal unicorns alone. But this isn’t the last you’ve seen of us!”
The Rescue
Avey led the royal unicorns safely back to the meadow, where Kiki, MJ, and Lala were waiting. The unicorns neighed happily, their glittering manes sparkling in the moonlight.
“You did it!” Kiki said, hugging Avey.
“Did you really use a flip-flop and duct tape?” MJ asked, amazed.
“And gum,” Avey added with a grin. “Never underestimate gum.”
A Hero’s Reward
That night, the royal unicorns gave Avey a special thank-you gift: a glowing unicorn horn charm that sparkled with magic.
“You’re a true hero, Avey,” Kiki said. “You saved the day with the most unexpected tools ever.”
“Just call me Flip-Flop Warrior,” Avey said, laughing as she tucked the charm into her pocket.
From then on, whenever trouble arose in Glitterglow, everyone knew who to call: Avey, the bravest flip-flop-wielding hero in the kingdom.
