Avey and the Library of Hidden Worlds

One quiet Saturday morning, Avey was curled up in her favorite reading spot with a book in her lap. She had already finished three adventure books that week, and she was looking for something new and exciting. Dad saw her flipping through pages and said, “Maybe it’s time we visit the old library downtown.”

Avey’s eyes sparkled. She loved libraries—but this one was different. It was tall, ancient, and made of red bricks, with twisting ivy growing up the sides and creaky doors that groaned when you pushed them open.

Inside, the air smelled like cinnamon and old stories. A friendly librarian with round glasses whispered, “Welcome to the Library of Hidden Worlds, dear. Choose wisely.”

Avey wandered through rows of books until one caught her eye. It was bound in blue velvet and shimmered slightly in the light. The title read: “Open Me If You Dare.”

Without hesitation, she opened the book.

WHOOSH!

A whirl of wind pulled her inside the pages. When she blinked, she was standing in a world made of floating islands, glowing bridges, and skies filled with flying jellyfish! On her shoulder sat a tiny talking owl named Ink.

“Welcome, Reader,” Ink said. “You’ve been chosen to help save the Hidden Worlds from vanishing!”

Avey was thrilled. She ran, climbed, and soared through magical lands, solving riddles, helping lost creatures, and using her cleverness to unlock doors and portals. In one world, she helped a dragon find its missing fire. In another, she restored color to a kingdom turned gray.

All along the way, she collected glowing bookmarks from each world. “Once you collect all five,” said Ink, “you’ll unlock the way home.”

The final world was the hardest—a land where people had forgotten how to read. Avey taught them one by one, using her bookmarks like keys to unlock their imaginations.

As soon as the last child finished their first book, the sky burst into a rainbow swirl, and Avey was lifted high into the air.

WHOOSH!

She opened her eyes and was back in the library, still holding the blue velvet book. Ink was gone—but when she flipped to the last page, she saw a tiny feather taped inside.

She smiled. “Best. Library. Ever.”

The End
