Once upon a time, on a breezy afternoon, Kiki was playing in the garden with her sparkly jump rope. The flowers danced in the wind, and the sun peeked through the fluffy clouds. Suddenly, a soft whhhsssshhhh sound tickled her ears.
“Who’s there?” Kiki whispered, tilting her head.
“It’s me,” said a gentle voice in the wind. “I’m the Whispering Wind, and I need your help.”
Kiki’s eyes widened. “Help with what?”
The wind swirled around her, lifting a few leaves into the air like magic. “The Tree of Echoes at the top of Windy Hill has lost its voice. Without its song, the forest animals can’t find their way home at night.”
Kiki gasped. “That’s awful! Let’s go!”
The wind whooshed her into the sky and floated her gently to the hilltop. There stood a tall, beautiful tree with silver leaves and glowing bark—but it was completely silent.
Kiki pressed her ear to the trunk. “Don’t worry, I’ll help you sing again.”
Suddenly, her hair shimmered in the sunlight, and a glowing feather floated down from the clouds. The wind whispered, “This is the Feather of Sound—only a kind heart like yours can use it.”
Kiki gently tapped the tree with the feather.
Hummmmm… shhhooooom…
The tree burst into beautiful music, like a lullaby mixed with the rustling of wind and the giggles of birds. The forest lit up, and tiny creatures peeked out of their burrows, chirping with joy.
Kiki smiled proudly. “Now everyone can find their way home.”
The Whispering Wind swirled around her once more. “Thank you, Kiki. You are a true wind-friend.”
As the sun began to set, the wind carried her back home just in time for dinner. No one believed her magical tale—except the wind, which whispered thank you through her window that night.
And Kiki? She kept the Feather of Sound hidden in her sock drawer… just in case the wind needed her again.
