Avery loved solving puzzles. From jigsaw pieces to riddles in books, nothing excited her more than cracking a mystery. One quiet evening, after brushing her teeth and climbing into bed, she noticed a strange flicker on her tablet screen. It blinked twice… then again… and suddenly a message appeared:
“You’ve been chosen to solve the Midnight Code. Follow the glowing clues.”
Avery sat up, wide-eyed. “A mystery? At bedtime? Yes, please!”
She slipped on her favorite hoodie, grabbed her notebook, and followed the soft, glowing blue line that had appeared on her bedroom floor. It snaked under her desk, around her bookshelf, and paused right at her closet door.
Inside, she found an old cardboard box that hadn’t been touched in years. She brushed off the dust and found the first clue written in invisible ink. Using a flashlight, she read:
“Begin where stories rest, in pages worn and true. To unlock the next code, find the book with the red shoe.”
Avery raced to her shelf, searching every spine until—aha! “The Girl with the Red Shoe” was tucked behind another book. Inside, another glowing note!
Clue after clue led her through her room, under her bed, even to the kitchen for a “midnight snack code” hidden inside a cookie jar.
Finally, the trail led back to her room, where her laptop screen glowed with a password prompt. Avery entered the secret word she had collected from the clues: “Brightmind.”
With a soft chime, the screen lit up and a voice said, “You’ve unlocked the Midnight Code. You are now part of the Secret Solver Society. Your next mission arrives at the next full moon.”
Avery smiled, heart racing with joy. She climbed into bed, her mind spinning with dreams of codes and puzzles and hidden messages only she could solve.
