One chilly December afternoon, Kiki was helping decorate the house for Christmas. She hung up twinkling lights, placed ornaments on the tree, and even helped Dad wrap presents. But something felt… off.
“This doesn’t look like Christmas,” Kiki said, crossing her arms.
“What do you mean?” Avey asked, placing a golden star on the tree.
Kiki sighed. “It’s just… where’s the red? Christmas needs more red!”
Just then, she noticed something shiny in the corner of the room. It was a beautiful red princess costume with sparkling gold trim and a flowing cape.
“Whoa!” Kiki gasped. “Where did this come from?”
Dad peeked over. “Looks like something special for you,” he said with a wink.
Excited, Kiki grabbed the costume and slipped it on. The moment she fastened the red cape, a warm glow surrounded her. The lights twinkled brighter, the air filled with the scent of cinnamon, and suddenly—
POOF!
A woman in a dazzling red gown appeared right in front of her. She had golden curls, a crown made of holly berries, and a long flowing red dress that shimmered like firelight.
“Hello, Kiki,” the woman said with a warm smile. “I am Princess Red. And you’re right—Christmas needs more red!”
A Christmas Mission
Kiki’s eyes widened. “You mean… we can add more red?”
Princess Red nodded. “Christmas magic works best when there’s just the right balance of colors. But this year, it seems like there’s too much green and gold, and not enough red! Will you help me fix it?”
Kiki grinned. “Yes! What do we do first?”
Princess Red took Kiki’s hand, and whoosh! They were swept into the Christmas Kingdom, a magical place where the holiday spirit lived. Snowflakes sparkled like diamonds, candy canes grew from the ground, and giant Christmas trees stood tall.
Kiki twirled in her red princess costume. “This is amazing!”
But as she looked around, she noticed something strange—everything was green, gold, and white. Even the candy canes were missing their red stripes!
“Oh no!” Kiki gasped. “This doesn’t look right!”
Princess Red nodded. “That’s why you’re here, Kiki. We need to bring the red back to Christmas!”
Adding the Christmas Red
Princess Red waved her hand, and a basket of red magic dust appeared.
“Throw a little sparkle on anything that needs more red,” she said.
Kiki grabbed a handful and tossed it into the air. Poof! The white Christmas stockings turned bright red!
She sprinkled some on the candy canes. Zap! Red stripes reappeared instantly.
Kiki giggled. “This is fun!”
She ran to the Christmas trees, sprinkling magic dust over ribbons, ornaments, and wreaths. Everywhere she went, red lights and bows appeared, making everything feel warm and cozy.
Finally, she looked up at the sky. Even the sunset looked a little pale.
Kiki grinned and threw the last handful of magic dust into the air. The sky lit up with a brilliant red glow, turning into the most beautiful Christmas sunset ever.
Princess Red clapped her hands. “Wonderful job, Kiki! You’ve brought back the true colors of Christmas.”
A Special Christmas Gift
As the Christmas Kingdom sparkled with warmth and joy, Princess Red turned to Kiki. “Because of your kindness, I have a special gift for you.”
She reached into her gown and pulled out a small red ornament. It glowed softly in Kiki’s hands.
“This ornament will always remind you of the magic you brought back to Christmas,” Princess Red said with a wink.
Kiki held it close. “Thank you, Princess Red! This was the best Christmas ever!”
With one final twirl of magic, Kiki found herself back home in her living room. The red princess costume still shimmered, but the Christmas tree, stockings, and decorations were now perfectly balanced with the brightest reds she had ever seen.
Avey looked around. “Huh… I guess you were right. Christmas did need more red!”
Dad smiled and handed Kiki a cup of hot cocoa. “Merry Christmas, Princess Kiki.”
Kiki grinned, holding up her new ornament. “Merry Christmas, Daddy.”
And as the snow gently fell outside, Kiki knew that the magic of Christmas would always be in her heart.
The End.
